camera movement and editing

Minority report clip

Camera movement

0:58 - Handheld

The camera is handheld, which added a lot of urgency and pace to the scene, the director might have used this scene to make the audience feel a sense of suspense and the shaky camera might have made the audience feel like a part of the chase.

1:02 - Pan

The camera is tilted to the left following the character's movement, the director uses this camera movement to show the audience where the character is running too and also some of the sorroundings are shown.

2:51 - Tilt

The camera is tilted down from a fixed point to make the character look weak using a high angle, the director chose this camera movement to make the audience feel suspense as the character is stuck and does not know what to do at the moment.

Editing

0:37 - Juxtaposition

The camera shots are parallel editing, 2 shots are placed together and they created an eye line match, which might make the audience feel like the 2 characters are somehow linked to eachother.

2:11 - Pace of editing

The pace of the camera shots change from slow cuts to fast cuts, the slow cuts made the audience feel a lot of tension, as they changed into fast cuts the audience excitement as there is more action and excitement.

Camera shots and angles

1:52 - Close up

The shot is a close up shot as it shows from the top of the characters head to the chin, the shot was taken like this to show the characters expression and what they might be thinking

2:23 - Low angle

The shot is a low angle shot as it is kind of looking up the character, which makes him look big and powerful, i think the director might have used this shot t suggest to the audience that the character was more powerful in this scene as he outsmarted a lot police people.
