Industries

They fir st achieved success through making their own CD's as they did not collaborate with a record label, and then handing them at for free which got them a little fan base. Not a while after, people started posting their music on P2P websites where their fan base grew.
2) Why was P2P file sharing and MySpace an unexpected aspect to Arctic Monkeys' early success?
It was unexpected as the band didn't know bars were sharing their music on the websites, and when they found out they were shocked as it got them a much larger fanbase.
3) How does the rise of Arctic Monkeys differ from how BLACKPINK were formed and became famous?
The rise of Arctic monkey was a lot more authentic than blackpink’s as they became a group from being friends at school and started music and grow their fanbase from scratch and with lots of hardwork, they also write their own songs about personal experiences and ever have a smaller record label that allowed then to continue being authentic. On the other hand, blackpink had gotten together through YG entertainment where they were trained to make mainstream music and become worldwide. Blackpink also don’t write their own songs, and the songs thry sang were reaching to a certain audience so they could gain as much money as possible.
4) Who is Arctic Monkeys record label and how many copies did they sell of their debut album? Why did they choose an independent record label?
Arctic Monkeys record label is Domino’s records and it sold over 350,000 copies in one week for their album which hit number 1 in charts called ‘whatever people say I am that’s what I’m not’, they chose this record label as it’s a smaller record label which allows them to be more free and keep making the music that defines them.
5) Looking at the wider music industry, has the internet been a positive or negative development for record companies and artists? Why?
In my opinion the Internet has been positive development for record companies and artists as it has gained them a lot of popularity and fans.
