 Mise-en-scene: Stranger Things Analysis

Costume:

At the beginning of the clip, the character is wearing a white lab coat which indicates him being a scientist, the 4 characters are all wearing bright coloured 80s style clothes which indicates to the audience that they are young , and the 2 parents are wearing less bright coloured clothes, which indicates them being older and more sophisticated.

Lightning:

In the first clip there are flashing and flickering lights which suggest to the audience that there is danger coming or something, afterwards, the scene changes and there are very dim lights suggesting that its calm. At the end the singular light bulb shines really bright which might be suggesting the danger won.

Setting:

At the beginning in the first clip, the setting is at a long hallway, and its very dark which makes the audience want to know more about what the character is doing there and it also makes the audience feel a sense of eerieness. 5:25 onwards, the character is alone, bycling through an empty dark street, where its kind of foggy which indicates that something wrong or bad might happen to the character.

Actor placement/movement/expression:

At the beginning, the character who seems to be a doctor seems very agitated as you could tell by his expression which is at unease, which indicates that he is in danger and trying to escape from something that is dangerous.
